Alabama football continued its strong run this weekend, edging out No. 5 Georgia 24-21 in Athens to snap the Bulldogs’ 33-game home win streak.
Quarterback Ty Simpson delivered a clutch performance, throwing for 276 yards with two touchdowns and adding a rushing score, while Alabama’s defense made several key stops in the final moments to preserve the lead.
Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide welcomed back running back Jam Miller and defensive tackle Tim Keenan III—both returned from injuries and were active against a top opponent. On the downside, guard Jalil Bethea underwent foot surgery earlier in the week, leaving his return timeline uncertain.
All this comes against the backdrop of the SEC’s upcoming shift to a nine-game conference schedule, in which Alabama’s “permanent rivals” have been named—Auburn, Tennessee, and Mississippi State.
